Flying pig Bowness on the map.
Tried this place twice now and it's great, real ales, real home cooked food in a brand new on trend environment and excellent staff. Outside seating and lots of cosy seating inside with real fires
A great pub with staff, wonderful food and beers are very good, better than the other pubs in the area and good outdoor seating
We've been to the flying pig a few times now being locals and have to say hats off to the new owners who have brought something new, trendy and high quality to Biwness which it needs, too many tired bars and restaurants around here living in the 80s. The food at the flying pig is top notch and fresh, a great real cask ale selection and good wines all in a brand new environment, highly recomemding the pies and the pork belly. Delicious previous reviews on this place seem very wrong and look like they have been written by other jealous business owners who just don't like that this place is always full and theirs are not ! Judge for yourselves it's now one of our favourite places in Bowness
Full of young extremely drunk kids, try eat with that all around you with a young child!! Staff don't know left from right Good beers I must say and good manager-- how long they will keep him for is a simple answer-- not long at all, the place doesn't deserve him! Food is at best average, mostly bought in and re heated-- just look through the menus,, the advert on the gazette (local paper) stated from the owner that pubs are known for rubbish food,, well the one 20 yards away The Albert is Hands down 100% better in all aspects, the food is mostly home made there, the owners actually work on a daily basis, not just sitting looking busy or drinking and counting profits!!! Please don't buy another in town your just wasting good properties for people that care and don't just care about the profits!!!! ( leave spinnery alone, you don't deserve it)!!!
I guess you own the pub you mention next door ! Stop your jealousy and try and compete
Grey ransom mash, wrong drinks, incorrect selling of breaded Whitby scampi when it was battered fish mush, belly pork was good but I have a feeling it's bought in.. Menus are repetitive with slight changes on lunch and dinner. Desserts all bought in ! Like Riva-- is it a bar or a restaurant! Full of boozers so not a family place as advertised, locals discount card!! Yeah, after you have eaten and drank you get it if you ask!! Will end up a booze place or like Riva-- nothing!
